Kiri Nevin PMHNP
Kiri Nevin is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and is exhilarated to join Dr. Riaz’s staff. Kiri began her nursing career almost ten years ago after graduating with her bachelor’s in nursing science from the Medical University of South Carolina. She was first stationed as a registered nurse with the US Public Health Services at two federal correctional facilities. After resigning her commission, Kiri went back to school to pursue her doctorate of nursing Practice in psychiatric mental health; she is a recent graduate of Rush University in Chicago, IL. In addition to her nursing experiences in the federal prison system, she gained valuable clinical insights working on a geriatric psychiatric and behavioral inpatient unit. Also she work on adult and child/adolescent eating disorder inpatient units, and in an outpatient mental health clinic assisting in the treatment of adult patients.
Kiri’s goals are to treat her patients with dignity and compassion in their times of distress, and help her patients achieve, maintain and live to their highest potentials. She will strive to have a collaborative relationship with her patients, encouraging them to be active participants in achieving and maintaining positive mental health. Her clinical interests include substance use disorders, eating disorders, depression and anxiety.
Kiri enjoys exploring new cuisines with her husband, and spending all the time she can with her three children. Her children keep her busy as she cheers them on at their water polo and soccer games, and gymnastics meets.
